What a disappointment... Let me state this right away: Grace Jones is one of my favorite artist, with 2 songs in particular (La Vie En Rose and Libertango) which defined in part my adolescence. One cannot minimize the balls it took to cover Edith Piaf's La Vie En Rose and turn it into a ground breaking hit, in France no less. She was also stunning in 1985's From A View To A Kill.

However, this documentary really had me pissed off for over 50% of the running time. All this does is to seemingly follow Grace during the most boring parts of her life, with amateurish camera work and sound. I literally couldn't understand half of what people were saying on camera. The only saving grace for this piece was the intermittent excerpts of her latest concert tour: classic songs, gorgeous sets and costumes... and the hats... That is the only reason why i don't rate this a total F. I could even say that if they only had focused on her concert performances, and maybe a bit of behind the scenes, this would have been a good A-... But as it is, it's a mess that delivers nothing about an iconic character.
