When i watched Stalingrad, i half-jokingly said the film's major tour de force was that it made us, the viewers, feel pity for German troops. This movie achieves the same thing. It's an amazingly made film first, but it's empathy reaches cross-borders and truly shows the horror of wars. Most anti-war films fail at that.
