This Thanksgiving weekend was a repeat for Harry Potter 4, The Goblet Of Fire (2005) which took first place again. With $54.7M on the 3-day weekend, and close to $80M on the 5-day long weekend, the movie crossed the $200M mark in 10 days, which is better than any other Harry Potter movie. The question is whether it will continue on that path or not. If yes, then $300M is the next milestone by the end of December. But then again, expected juggernaut King Kong is coming out in 2 weeks and may cut that off.

But for the moment, Potter is king, and that had a strong effect on all other movies. None managed to pull in more than $20M. This being said, Walk The Line (2005) did beat expectations with $19.2M. That's a total of $54M and the movie is considered a hit now.

Yours, Mine And Ours (2005) also beat expectations with $17.5M, in spite of poor reviews and the obvious attempt to repeat the success of last Thanksgiving's Cheaper By The Dozen (2003). Chicken Little (2005) dropped considerably from last weekend, and with an additional $12.6M now sits at $118.4M. Finally, Rent (2005) had a rather disappointing debut with $10M over the weekend, and $17.1M total for the 5 day weekend (the film opened on Wednesday night).
