Silent Hill (2006) opened big this weekend with $20.2M. Based on a video game, the film is getting good reviews from fans but has otherwise seen a mixed reception. This means that the film will likely be unable to sustain any legs over the coming weeks and may struggle to even reach $50M. That's not bad though as teh film was not expensive to make.

Scary Movie 4 (2006) sufferred this week and dropped by almost 60% over its opening weekend. With an additional $16.8M, the movie is now sitting on $67.5M in ticket sales, but will definitely struggle to break $100M. If that happens, this movie will apparently be the first in history to open with more than $40M adn yet not reach $100M. Strange.

Sentinel, The (2006) is getting average reviews at best, but targets an older audience. With a $14.4M opening, that means that the film could do relatively well if it shows some legs.

Ice Age 2: The Meltdown (2006) added $13.3M to its bank account and is inching closer towards $200M. Wild, The (2006) had a surprise second weekend with $8.2M. That's about 15% drop from its opening weekend, which is a rarity these days. But it's simply too little too late and the film $22.2M so far is a financial disaster.
