Pirates Of The Caribbean 2, Dead Man's Chest (2006) remains the undisputed king and performed spectacularly over the week, tying Spiderman 2 (2004) and Star Wars 6, Episode 3, Revenge Of The Sith (2005) as fastest to $200M in just 8 days. Incredible! The movie performed very well during its second weekend and is on its way to perhaps top the record for fastest to $300M currently owned by Star Wars 6, Episode 3, Revenge Of The Sith (2005) which did it in 17 days. With an additional $62.3M, the film now sits at $258.4M in just10 days.

Next, we have a close finish with two new movies. Little Man (2006) had fairly bad reviews and was actually expected to come third. It surprised everyone and with $21.6M, finished second. You, Me And Dupree (2006) has somewhat better reviews, but nothing to be happy about. Nevertheless, it opened with $21.5M.

In the holdover section, Superman Returns (2006) is truly struggling. Adding $12.3M in its third weekend, the movie now sits at $164.3M. This means the movie will struggle to reach $200M and won't be profitable for the studios until way into the home market. Devil Wears Prada, The (2006) however is doing really well and with $10.4M in its third weekend, it now has $83.5M its coffers. The movie is pretty much assured to reach $100M and is considered quite a success.
