Invincible (2006) remained on top for its second weekend with $12.2M. The movie now has $34.8M in the bank and will have no problem surpassing its production budget and becoming a mid-level success.

Crank (2006) had one of the best opening for September with $10.5M, which was below expectations. The reviews are pretty good so we'll have to wait till next weekend to see if the movie will be as successful as other  Jason Statham fares. Wicker Man, The (2006)  however was a big disappointment as it opened well below expectations. In fact, the movie was expected to finish first. It's been a long time since a Nicolas Cage made it big at the boxoffice.  Illusionist, The (2006), the last "big" opening for the week, had a very small distribution (some 971 theaters only) but nevertheless managed to pocket $6.3M.  and finish in the top five. The reviews are superb and we'll see if it expands over the next week.
