Meet the Fockers is a surprise hit with $46M over the weekend, and $70 since it opened on Wednesday. The numbers after the weekend continue to be good and the movie should hit $100M in no time.
Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events fell appart on its second weekend with only $13M. So far, the movie has barely banked $60M. Not good, especially for a movie that cost over $150M to make.
Fat Albert, with $10M, does much better than anyone had expected and could be a sleeper hit of the word of mouth works in its favor. One thing for sure, critics hated it.
Aviator, The, which boasts some of the best Oscar chances for director Martin Scorcese, was a box office disappointment with only $10M.
The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou has extended its theater count this weekend, but only managed $4.5M. For Wes Anderson's fans, it's certainly a disappointment. The film has received mixed reviews so far.
